AlphaSense Raises $225M in Series D; Valued at $1.7 Billion

AlphaSenseNew York-based market intelligence company and search platform, e.t.c., has raised $225m in Series A financing. The Growth Equity unit of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (Goldman Sachs), and Viking Global Investors led the round. It was valued at $1.7 billion. This round also includes a significant debt investment from BlackRock funds or accounts earlier in the year. AlphaSense, headed by Jack Kokko (CEO), is an AI-based market intelligence platform that is used by top companies and financial institutions. Since 2011, the technology solution has helped professionals make business decisions by delivering insights from an extensive universe of public and private content — including company filings, event transcripts, expert call transcripts, news, trade journals, and equity research. The platform is used by over 3,500 enterprise customers, including top asset management firms and banks, and leading companies in wide-ranging industries such as energy, industrials, consumer goods, and technology, a majority of the S&P 500. AlphaSense has over 1,000 employees in offices across the U.S. and U.K. as well as Germany, Finland, Germany and India. The company plans to invest the funds in product development, content expansion, customer support, as well as to drive organic growth and strategic transactions. Recent acquisitions include the October 2021 purchase of Stream By Mosaic, a provider of expert interview transcripts and the purchase of Sentieo which was a financial information platform for investors.
