Aptatek BioSciences Secures $4M Seed Funding

Aptatek BioSciencesSeed funding of $4M was raised by, a Princeton-based provider for in-home monitoring solutions. The round was led jointly by IP Group, Inc., Canterbury Scientific Limited, National PKU Alliance. Aptatek BioSciences was founded by Dr. Michael Boyce Jacino, CEO of Columbia University. It is a spinoff company that develops in-home health monitoring systems for patients with chronic diseases. The company intends use the funds to accelerate clinical validation and development of its first product. This will enable critical in-home monitoring for phenylketonuria. It also plans to hire key employees to increase the team, investigate other applications in chronic kidney disease management and medication administration.
