MainOne launches Fiber Infrastructure in the Lagos Free Zone MainOne, West Africa’s leading connectivity and data center solutions provider, has announced the expansion of its fiber-optic network infrastructure to the Lagos Free Zone in Lekki. Lagos Free Zone, Nigeria’s first private-free Zone, aims to be Nigeria’s preferred investment destination with the best infrastructure, facilities, services, and facilities. MainOne is leading the deployment and support for the vision of this zone by supporting the deployment of telecom infrastructure with the President Buhari’s recent visit. Businesses in the Zone now have access to reliable, secure, and direct network connectivity. Data center services are available, which will enable them to achieve increased productivity and network speeds that match international standards. Anil Verma was Chief Technical Officer of MainOne. “This partnership with Lagos Free Zone will provide strategic value to forward-thinking businesses who seek to enjoy the ease of doing business. The Zone will offer increased security and connectivity to organizations in The New Frontier. Customers will also enjoy access to local data centers and other local and global service providers through the MainOne data center with connections directly from the Zone.” This zone, located in Lagos State, covers an area covering 850 hectares. It has a single clearance window that allows for easy business transactions and is uniquely integrated with Lekki Port which will enable access to international and regional markets. Lagos Free Zone will be home to over 150 industries and create more than 26,000 new jobs. The zone is already home to globally reputable brands such as Kellogg’s, Dano Milk, Colgate, BASF, and Power Oil among others. Nikhil Khandelwal (CTO Lagos Free Zone) stated at the launch that the partnership with MainOne to provide high-speed fiber optic networks at LFZ will be an effective technological backbone. This will allow us to accelerate our efforts towards delivering greater ease of doing business for our tenants. Khandelwal also stated that LFZ is a great destination for data centre operators and host technology manufacturers, as it offers reliable power and broadband internet access. MainOne recognizes the importance of digital infrastructure in order to do business in a post COVID world. MainOne continues to grow its network and offer data center services to top West African organizations.
